Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, recently discussed a new idea about tokenizing the time of social media influencers. He hinted that YZi Labs might invest in a project that uses Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and Binance Coin (BNB) for payments.
In a post on Binance Square, CZ brought back the concept of “time tokens.” These tokens would let influencers charge users for their time and interactions. Although earlier attempts at this idea did not succeed, CZ believes a better approach could work.
He proposed a platform where verified influencers link their social media accounts, like X (formerly Twitter) or LinkedIn, to prove their identity. Influencers could set a fee, for example, 1 BNB or 0.1 BNB, for users to send them messages.
If the influencer does not reply within five days, half of the payment would be returned to the user. This system aims to reduce spam and encourage influencers to respond quickly.
CZ mentioned that he would use such a platform and donate any crypto he earns to charity. He believes this would help filter out people who genuinely want to connect with him. He also noted that serious inquiries could lead to longer conversations, rewards for security tips, or even full refunds.
