Alchemy has unveiled its Create Web3 Dapp (CW3D) platform to help bring more people into decentralized technologies.

According to Elan Halpern, Product Manager at Alchemy, the company’s mission is to bring blockchain, or Web3 to a billion people by empowering developers. For Halpern, the key to bringing Web3 to the masses is to get developers excited about creating the products that people will use.

Launched in 2017, Alchemy is a blockchain software development company that builds applications across several chains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism.

In October 2021, the company raised $250 million in Series C funding, and in August 2022, it acquired the Ethereum coding platform, Chainshot.

The CW3D platform is open source, allowing developers to build their own templates, components, and features.

Alchemy aims to make developers’ lives easier by providing essential tools needed to create a decentralized application. With CW3D, it takes only four minutes to build a dapp, which is significantly less time than alternative methods.

Alchemy’s bold statements have often been met with skepticism, but the company has a track record of delivering on its promises. In November, it launched Spearmint, an NFT allowlist platform for Ethereum layer-2 projects that users can create in under 10 minutes.

Other projects, such as Algorand, Cosmos, and Infura, are also building platforms for launching decentralized applications. On Thursday, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced the launch of its Ethereum layer-2 network for decentralized applications, Base.

Halpern acknowledges that building Web3 is still in its early stages and compares it to building a website in the 1990s.

However, he believes that if the tooling and infrastructure can support developers, they will be able to build the next generation of mainstream applications.
