Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse will testify before the US Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday morning. The hearing is called “From Wall Street to Web3: Building Tomorrow’s Digital Asset Markets.”
Garlinghouse shared his appreciation for being invited to talk about the important need for clear rules in the crypto market, a subject that has received a lot of focus lately.
The hearing will include notable people from the cryptocurrency industry, such as Summer Mersinger, CEO of the Blockchain Association; Jonathan Levin, CEO of Chainalysis, and Dan Robinson from Paradigm.
The session will be led by Senate Banking GOP Chairman Tim Scott, along with Senators Cynthia Lummis and Ruben Gallego, who are in charge of the Subcommittee for Digital Assets. The focus will be on new laws that aim to establish a clear set of rules for digital assets, which is crucial for the industry’s future.
Some important laws to be discussed include the GENIUS Act, which addresses stablecoins, and the CLARITY Act, which aims to clarify the definition of digital assets.
