Cardano users can now create smart contracts using the Cardano Babbage v5.0.0 app, according to Ledger, a blockchain application provider. The application can now be downloaded from Ledger Live.
Cardano Babbage v5.0.0 generates smart contracts with Vasil’s upgraded Plutus script.
However, before downloading the app, users must ensure that they are running the most recent version of the Ledger Live app as well as the most recent firmware on their Ledger wallet.
Furthermore, contrary to the Cardano v4 app, Ledger Live does not currently support the Babbage App. As a result, it can only be used with third-party apps such as Nami, Typhon, and Eternl.
In response to a user inquiry about NFTs, Ledger stated that the company is looking into adding NFT support for more blockchains in the future, but there is no estimated time frame.
Ledger also stated that it is still working on bringing staking to Ledger Live, but users can still stake their Cardano (ADA) on Ledger by connecting it with Adalite.
Furthermore, with the release of the Cardano v5.0.0 app, Ledger claims that, unlike previously, users can now confirm transactions on NFT marketplaces via ledgers. The crypto community has reacted positively to the move.
Meanwhile, Romain Pellerin, CTO of Input Output Global (IOG), the developer of the Cardano network, used the occasion to poke fun at FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried, who described Cardano a new blockchain recently.
