OneKey, a prominent manufacturer of cryptographic hardware wallets, has declared its incorporation with MetaMask, the preeminent self-custodial web3 wallet globally.

The most recent update, version 12.0.0, of MetaMask’s browser extension now includes support for OneKey’s Air-Gapped (QR-based) connection. This change improves the security and ease of use for users.

Users have the option to link their OneKey hardware wallets by scanning a QR code, which eliminates the requirement for direct computer connections. This method guarantees that users’ private keys are kept separate from the internet while signing transactions.

OneKey is listed as one of the QR-code-supported partners for linking their hardware wallet to the MetaMask extension. OneKey has quickly established itself as a leading brand in the hardware wallet market since its establishment in 2019.

It has gained significant popularity and success, with support from prominent investors like Coinbase Ventures, Dragonfly, and Ribbit Capital. The OneKey Pro is a compact hardware wallet with a 3.5-inch touch-screen.

According to the team, it has strong security features, including air-gapped signing using QR code scanning, biometric access with a fingerprint-integrated power button, and the ability to charge wirelessly.
