Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive, has been denied bail by a Nigerian judge, much to the disappointment of his family and the company. Gambaryan, who oversees financial crime compliance at Binance, has been detained for over 220 days, facing serious health issues while imprisoned in Kuje, a facility known for housing dangerous criminals, including members of Boko Haram.

His legal troubles began in February, and although he was initially charged with tax evasion and money laundering, the tax charges were later dropped. A new bail application was submitted by his attorneys, highlighting his worsening health, which has included malaria, pneumonia, and complications from a herniated disc.

His lawyer expressed concerns that Gambaryan has been in need of surgery since mid-July and cannot receive adequate medical care in prison.

Gambaryan’s wife, Yuki, expressed her frustration and concern for her husband’s health, emphasizing the injustice of his continued detention under such dire circumstances. She remains committed to advocating for his release and hopes that any damage to his health can be mitigated once he is free.
