FIFA President Gianni Infantino has suggested that FIFA might create its own cryptocurrency. This idea was shared after President Donald Trump’s Crypto Summit on March 7.
Infantino expressed strong interest in developing a FIFA coin, aiming to connect with the 5 billion football fans worldwide. He stated, “If there is anyone here who wants to cooperate with FIFA, we are here with the United States, and we will conquer the world of football with the FIFA coin.”
Although there are no specific details or timelines about the FIFA token yet, Infantino’s comments indicate that FIFA is looking into blockchain technology. This could help engage fans and generate revenue for the organization. President Trump reacted positively to Infantino’s idea, suggesting that this coin could become very valuable, even more than FIFA itself.
Interestingly, after Infantino’s announcement, an unrelated crypto named “FIFA” experienced a massive price surge. This token, which has no official ties to FIFA, saw its price increase by an astonishing 357,000% in just one day.
