Metaplanet has been in the news for investing a lot in Bitcoin. They bought 10,000 BTC, starting with 1,112 Bitcoins at an average price of $105,435 each.
The company is now the 9th-largest holder of Bitcoin, having more Bitcoin than Coinbase Global, which has 9,267 BTC. CEO Simon Gerovich shared this news on his official X account. He noted that Metaplanet has invested about $947 million in Bitcoin, which averages to around $94,697 for each Bitcoin.
By June 2025, Metaplanet has reached a Bitcoin yield of 266%. The company has been buying a lot of Bitcoin, which has helped it become one of the top holders.
Right now, MicroStrategy has the most Bitcoin, holding 582,000 BTC. Other big companies with Bitcoin include MARA, XXI, Piot Platforms, Galaxy Digital, Cleanspark, Tesla, and Hut 8 Mining Corp.
Metaplanet is trying to buy more Bitcoin. They announced they will issue $210 million in zero-percent Ordinary Bonds to help pay for these purchases. This action is likely to strengthen its status as one of the top Bitcoin holders.
The market liked Metaplanet’s strong Bitcoin plan, and the company’s stock went up more than 25% to hit 1,895 JPY. Since the start of the year, Metaplanet’s share price has gone up by 430%, showing that investors believe in its plan to buy Bitcoin.
