Former US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of the Series 2 of his Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection on the Polygon network.
According to Trump’s post on his social media platform, Truth Social, the new collection consists of 47,000 tokens, which is 2,000 more than his first collection. The price of $99 per token remains unchanged.
Despite rising market demand, Trump chose not to increase the selling price of the new NFT collection, explaining on social media that he wanted his supporters to “have fun doing it” and make money.
The announcement of the new collection, however, caused a drop in the floor price of the previous collection, with the cheapest Trump NFT dropping from 0.4 ETH to around 0.1 ETH, according to Coingecko.
While Trump’s fortune is estimated to be over $2.5 billion, his goal may be to remain relevant on social media as he prepares for a potential presidential campaign.
The additional 2,000 tokens in the new collection highlight the number “47,” which could signify the next US president’s position if he wins a legal battle against his adversaries.
The first collection of Trump’s NFTs, launched in December 2021, may have earned him nearly $1 million, according to recent reports.
The first collection featured various aspects of his life and presidential career through 45,000 unique NFTs, with various prizes such as autographs and dinners with the former president.
