The Bitcoin Conference 2024 concluded with former President Donald Trump gaining attention for his increasingly crypto-friendly stance. Trump’s campaign launched a fundraising page on May 21st, allowing contributions via crypto through Coinbase Commerce.
During his keynote speech at the conference in Nashville, Tennessee, Trump revealed that his campaign has successfully raised $25 million since opening up to crypto donations. He expressed pride in being the first major party nominee in American history to accept donations in Bitcoin and crypto.
David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, noted that DJT raised $25 million in Nashville, his second-highest fundraiser ever across three different presidential campaigns.
Digital asset investor and entrepreneur Gary Cardone made headlines by donating 12.8 Bitcoin, valued at $852,000, to support Trump’s bid for the presidency. He praised Trump as one of the most spectacular disruptors in history and a fighter, just like the rest of us.
Trump also made headlines by launching Bitcoin-themed sneakers as part of his 2024 presidential campaign. His company, CIC Ventures LLC, introduced a limited edition of “Crypto President” high-tops, featuring the Bitcoin symbol, celebrating Trump’s vision for the future of finance. This bold initiative follows his pledge at the Bitcoin conference in Nashville to establish a national Bitcoin reserve if elected.
