The Iranian government is returning some of the cryptocurrency mining hardware it confiscated from underground operations, following a ruling by the country’s courts.

The government’s OCSSOP organization has seized about 150,000 units of crypto mining equipment, which will now be released back to their owners following judicial rulings.

The Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Company in Iran has been asked to provide suggestions for safely utilizing the mining equipment on the national grid. A

lthough cryptocurrency mining was made legal in Iran in 2019, the government has periodically suspended permitted coin minting due to power constraints and has taken a stricter approach to illegal mining by Iranians.
