President Joe Biden’s administration’s hostile stance on crypto may be passed on to Kamala Harris, who privately called Bitcoin “money for criminals.”

Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey accused Harris of destroying the crypto industry over the past four years and collaborating with Securities and Exchange Commission Chair (SEC) Gary Gensler and Senator Elizabeth Warren to push anti-crypto policies, such as Operation Choke Point. The Biden administration has imprisoned developers and driven the industry overseas, making Harris unable to claim to support Bitcoin.

Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election and has received support from key Democratic leaders, including Bill and Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren.

However, Harris’ campaign has not made any significant public statements about crypto or Bitcoin during her political career, making it difficult to determine her exact views on the matter.

Ronald Trump, the Republican nominee, has embraced a pro-crypto stance and has actively engaged with the crypto community. He will attend the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville this week, alongside other high-profile figures like Cathie Wood, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Michael Saylor. The lack of commentary makes it difficult to determine Harris’ exact views on the matter.
