A small selection of blockchain-based “virtual gear” wearables from Adidas Originals have been unveiled; these NFTs will be sold on the Adidas metaverse.
The designs in the collection, which features eight silhouettes with 16 different iterations, are a glimpse into an unheard-of future.
The introduction of Adidas’ first NFT line of wearables, a brand-new category of virtual goods that is open to interoperability, advances the company’s efforts to advance its community-based, member-first metaverse vision.
The virtual collection was unveiled after a teaser campaign with the Adidas Discord group, and it is now available in the wallets of current owners of Phase 2 Capsule NFT.
The 16-piece collection unites the past and present, virtual and physical elements, communities and artists, culture and identity, and marks a pivotal creative and cultural moment in the brand’s history.
Erika Wykes-Sneyd, Vice President of the Adidas studio, discussed the launch and said that this collection represents a more engaged community of owners.
Every item in the most recent NFT offering can be worn by virtual avatars using the PFP dressing tool and is compatible with other identity-based projects and worlds.
The virtual equipment can adjust to different metaverse environments and react to them.
The collection itself has several dynamic designs that give it a futuristic appearance. Additionally, adidas showcased its creativity by drawing inspiration from the dynamic metaverse worlds.
The equipment was labeled with names like “Space Crystal,” “P.F.D. – Personal Flotation Device,” and “WallRunner.”
As an homage to Adidas’ original Web3 partners, the line includes three limited edition creator-led wearables. The creativity of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Gmoney, and Punks Comics is evident in each.
