Internet Computer (ICP) announced it would release 10,000 free non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in its debut drop.
Dfinity’s Internet Computer clown-based collectibles are inspired by musical duo Insane Clown Posse and the early NFT project, Cryptopunks. The firm said that users could claim their free token Wednesday at 8 pm UTC.
According to reports, brothers Przemek and Tomasz Chojecki, alongside Adam Stępnik designed the NFTs based acronym comparisons to the 90’s hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse, and the legendary Cryptopunk NFTs.
Also, the ICP noted that only 3,000 punks will be available to claim. A user could claim only one when they are released. Following this, the co-founder of the project, Przemek Chojecki expressed his excitement about NFTs. He said,
“We’re incredibly excited for the launch of ICPunks on the Internet Computer. The NFT space is moving at such a rapid pace, it is amazing to be part of it. We have a lot of plans for ICPunks, including an NFT Marketplace, this is the first step towards that.”
Note that, Internet Computer is a crypto token (ICP) that lets users build applications, websites, and digital services.
Based on ICP tweet, the ICPunk drop has got attention from the crypto community. According to analytical data, there were over 89,000 visitors to the NFT’s website since it went live.
