Bradley Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple Labs Inc., will no longer be represented by his attorney Nicole Tatz in the lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Tatz has requested to withdraw as counsel and will leave her law firm, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, at the end of December.
The SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple and its executives in December 2020, alleging that the sale of XRP, a cryptocurrency, constituted an offering of unregistered securities worth over $1.38 billion.
Garlinghouse and Ripple’s Executive Chairman Chris Larsen were named as co-defendants in the case.
