The Cardano Foundation is teaming up with Brazil’s state-owned IT company, SERPRO, to introduce blockchain technology into the country’s public sector. This partnership aims to modernize Brazil’s digital infrastructure.
SERPRO handles 90% of Brazil’s federal public administration and processes around 33 billion transactions each year. This collaboration is a big step towards improving digital governance and promoting blockchain use in government.
Brazil is recognized for its digital governance, ranking second globally by the World Bank. SERPRO will integrate Cardano’s blockchain technology into its systems, leveraging its extensive technological resources. The company manages over 750 digital solutions and deals with a vast amount of data across various cloud platforms.
Frederik Gregaard, the CEO of the Cardano Foundation, highlighted that the initiative will not only focus on implementing blockchain but also on educating public sector employees.
The Cardano Academy will provide training programs, including masterclasses, workshops, and certification courses. This education is essential for ensuring that SERPRO employees understand blockchain and its benefits for governance.
Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim, President of SERPRO, noted that this partnership is transformative. By combining SERPRO’s expertise with Cardano’s blockchain, Brazil can lead in global digital governance.
This is the first time SERPRO has collaborated with an international organization for educational purposes, showing its commitment to innovation in Brazil’s digital government.
The partnership also reflects the Cardano Foundation’s growing global presence. Recently, the Cardano network and its token, ADA, gained attention when included in a proposed US crypto reserve.
However, the market saw a decline after President Trump’s executive order for a Bitcoin reserve. Despite this, the partnership with SERPRO highlights Cardano’s influence in shaping the future of blockchain in government.
As this collaboration develops, the focus on education will prepare Brazil’s public sector for a digital revolution. By merging Cardano’s technology with SERPRO’s experience, Brazil is set to lead in digital innovation, enhancing transparency and efficiency in public operations for its citizens.
