Avraham Eisenberg, the Mango Markets exploiter, has been ordered to be detained by the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
This decision was made after a detention hearing, during which it was determined that Eisenberg must be held in custody pending trial because the government has proven that no conditions or combination of conditions of release would assure Eisenberg’s appearance as required.
The potential length of Eisenberg’s incarceration if convicted and his strong ties outside of the United States were also cited as reasons for the decision.
Eisenberg was arrested on December 28 for market manipulation and fraud charges related to the exploitation of the Solana-based decentralized exchange Mango Markets.
In addition, he admitted to being at least partially responsible for. At the time, he argued that his actions were legal because he used the protocol as it was designed.
